Arun Joseph, MD is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and Harvard fellowship-trained Glaucoma Specialist. His primary clinical interest is in glaucoma, and he is specialized in its prevention, diagnosis, and medical and surgical management.
A native of Plano, Dr. Joseph graduated from Plano West Senior High School, subsequently went on to the University of Texas at Austin for his undergraduate studies, and then to medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He completed his medicine internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and a rigorous ophthalmology residency at the Downstate Medical Center in New York City.
To further advance his training, Dr. Joseph accepted a surgical glaucoma fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Massachusetts General Hospital. At Harvard, he trained extensively with renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Mark Latina, a pioneer in medical lasers and the inventor of selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT). SLT has become one of the most effective treatments for glaucoma worldwide, and Dr. Joseph is one of the few specialists in the country to train directly under Dr. Latina.
Dr. Joseph is pleased to offer world-class eye care to his hometown community. He believes in a customized approach and having an open discussion with each patient about their glaucoma and, if necessary, appropriate treatment options. His goal is to offer every patient the highest standard of care in a friendly, respectful, and personalized way.
In his spare time, Dr. Joseph enjoys playing golf and passionately supporting Longhorns football.
